The school funding crisis is human-made. It is the result of years of decisions at the state level to starve our public schools of resources. The lack of adequate funding makes it nearly impossible for educators to do their job effectively. State lawmakers can fix it if they choose. Missy will continue to fight for equitable school funding, full reimbursement for costs of teaching students with special needs, and counting K4 students as full students. These changes will only come if we can build a strong state-wide movement to unite families, education workers, students, and community leaders to demand that the legislature do the right thing for Wisconsin’s students.
